So....My S/O's sister (who is 21 and in college) has come to live with us for a couple of months. She is digging herself out of debt and finishing up school. Since I'm never around the place anyway, I offered to let her stay while she looks for new arrangements.

Being home this week has been a treat..... She is a wonderful kid, and I feel like her "big sister" in some ways. But I have this sneaking suspicion that she had some wild college parties while I was away ~ strange stains on the carpet (and on my bedspread, dammit!), total consumption of all alcohol in the house, strange looks from the neighbors.....

Sometimes I think I should put up a video camera to see *exactly* what she does.

Inquiring minds want to know......if you were 21 and suddenly inherited your "big sis's" house for two weeks straight.....What would YOU do?

;) :D ;)

LOL. Right off the bat, I would ensure beyond all shadows of doubt that there were no cameras present. Then I would proceed to drink all the available (read free) alcohol, leave strange stains on carpets, bedspreads, and kitchen tables, and generally try to have the biggest, wildest party I could arrange. Then I would have to spend the last three days frantically putting things to right, so that I could smile innocently at you upon your return.

Of course I would fail miserably at both events. The party would be a fizzled flop. I would forget and leave my socks under the couch, and the one place I didn't look would contain a camera.

But I would have two weeks to drink all of your booze! :D

I already lived on my own for a few years by then so I probably just would have been out until sunrise every morning.

I saw far too many high school parties get out of control to ever want to be responsible for one.

Rub her nose in all the stains. It works with cats!

I'm with Steph on this one. I went to to many high school partys that got out of control. I've also been to conventions where the room partys got out of control. I've never felt the need to party in my own place. I'm perfectly happy to stumble home(if withing stumbling distance) or passing out in place.

Osuche if you think a party happend ask the neighbors if they saw or heard anything. That would be the easiest way to find out in my opinion.

Thanks guys for the replies.... ;) I'm really not going to worry too much about what did -- or did not -- happen. I was more interested in learning about what each of you might have done, in her shoes. Would you have partied? Hidden it? :D Any hypothesis about the stains on the bed? :D

LOL. I guess I am imagining being young again. ;)

My brother in law took the opportunity to use my apartment while I was off on my honeymoon. I came home and could just feel something was not right. It was the pizza boxes under the couch and the fucked in bed that gave him away. Later we found out it had been a hellacious party. Ahhhh youth!

On the bed or in it? What does it look like? Smell like? And no, don't taste it!

That was your house? I would add some more chemicals to the hot tub if I were you.

I would feel that having some friends over is on thing, offering the host bed is another. Yes I did have some friends over the odd time my parents were way. But I know my neighbours would have either talked to my parents, or stepped in if things got out of hand. They never did. My parnets room was off limits. I sent you home in a cab or you slept on the floor, maybe my bed, but not in there bed.

So does that mean the party next week is off?

Of course not. :D As long as you bring the booze. I'm all out. :p

My parents traveled a lot when I was a teen, so during the summers the house was frequently in the hands of us sibs. Actually, we were pretty tame compared to what I'd get up to if I had it to do over. Our neighbors would've done more than throw funny looks at our parents when they got home. But we were smart enough to buy anything we intended to drink, and to change all sheets and get in a steam cleaner if necessary. My older brother always insisted that the house would be TOOO clean, and they'd get suspicious....but they never seemed to.

Oh yes, we learned beer bottles are the perfect size to hide in or under the sofa. All furntiure got disassembled and moved during the post party cleaning blitz. ALL beds got fresh sheets, even if we all swore blind they hadn't been used for ANYTHING. Once, we got a steam cleaner....we never ever left wierd and puzzling stains on anything.

Come to think of it, if my kids managed to hand me a house that looked that good every time I got back from a business trip, I wouldn't give a flip what they'd done while I was gone ;). Maybe my parents had a better idea of what was up than we gave them credit for.

If you were my "big sis"...well, I'd spend the two weeks installing my own video cameras. ;)

And drink all your booze. lmao

Osuche, the stain in the living room by the coffee table is red wine, the stain on the bedspread is chocolate syrup. I went out and got more beer, but we drank all of that too! :D :p

PS....The video cameras didn't work...at least that's the story I'm sticking with.

Just think. If that stain had not have missed, it could have been a Doctor or the first stain to walk on Mars!
